BSB British GP2 | R10 Donington Park

Double podium at Donington Park

The Krämer team headed to Donington Park for the 10th round of the Championship over the weekend, where they seen another double podium.

The team worked hard throughout free practice and qualifying, coming in at Jenner in 15th and Nixon in 24th on the grid for race one on Saturday, leaving some progress still to be made on the track.

Race one on Saturday saw both riders finish well, with Jenner in 7th and Nixon 19th overall, and taking 1st and 2nd in class.

Jenner had a really strong race mixing it with some of the more established top Supersport riders. Overall both riders came away with podium points yet again, a testament to not only the skill of the riders, but to the strength of the Krämer GP2-890RR, showing how competitive it is in amongst the Supersport bikes.

The weather on Sunday was a lot colder, making track conditions a little tougher to handle. Jenner started race two on Sunday in a great position on the grid and finished in a well deserved 9th place overall and first in class. He worked hard throughout the race, keeping up with the top Supersport riders and made incredible progress battling TJ Toms into 4th place at one point in the race.

Nixon had a good start, making up a number of positions from further back on the grid. Throughout the race he maintained this position steadily and finished in a respectable 18th place overall, 2nd in the GP2 class.

Team owner Eddie Roberts comments; “That was a great weekend for the team. Ally re-freshed both engines in preparation for the weekend, which certainly gave the bikes a new lease of life.”

“Owen had an exceptional weekend showing that he can run with the best of the Supersport guys. Jack dug deep and held his 2nd place in the GP2 Championship. The whole team worked well in what I would say is the best weekend of the year for Krämer Racing.”

“Well done to all. Now to Brands Hatch for the final round 11-13th October.”
