BSB British GP2 | R1 Circuit de Navarra

Double podium in Spain for the Krämer team

The first round of the BSB British GP2 Championship saw a positive start to the season for the Krämer team, as both Nixon and Jenner came away with podium points.

After a week of testing at Circuit de Navarra, a new track on the BSB calendar for 2024, Saturday saw the first practice and qualifying sessions of the season.

Both riders made steady progress with the bikes throughout practice and in qualifying, resulting in an all-round positive attitude in the garage and on track.

Sunday was race day and saw the Krämer team take a perfect double GP2 podium in race one (1st Nixon /2nd Jenner), with an overall race position of 12th place for Nixon and 22nd for Jenner.

Team owner Eddie Roberts comments; “Great result for the first race of the season, with a double podium win. The boys are working hard and steadily making progress each time they are out on track. Both riders are new to the bikes, so everything is taking a little longer than we would like, but we making positive steps in the right direction. They are top GP2 which is great, but both want to be at the sharp end of Supersport - its a big ask,  but I am confident we will get there!”

The second race of weekend saw another podium for the team, with Jenner finishing first in GP2.

Team owner Eddie Roberts comments; “This was a great first GP2 win for Owen and he has made a lot of progress with the bike. Jack was running strong upfront, until he suffered unfortunate gear change problems, which sadly ended his race early.”

“It was great to have the support of Bry Bayes from Technicolour on-hand over the weekend. Its now time to get back to the UK and prepare for the second round of the Championship at Oulton Park - bring it on!”

As always, we would like to thank this years sponsors and supporters: Build Maintain Refurb, Plastic Parts Direct, Krämer Motorcycles GmbH, Motul Oils, PT Hire, GB Racing Protection, Technicolour and Hel Performance.
